202FREE

It's 202free and we have been so busy we almost forgot that we are celebrating our first year of abundance! We launched today 2022 and we are so proud of all we have achieved.

Here is a recap:

January - April 2022: We started 2022 with ICORP - a counter poaching unit on the border of Limpopo and Botswana, there we consulted, structured and started implementing their vision of community driven and regenerative solutions to counter poaching. We also joined forces on "Our Drum is Love" - still ongoing - to regenerate the local school in their area sustainably.

From there we moved onto the Cheetah Experience in Limpopo where we consulted on social media and marketing strategy.

April 2022: Saw us take on social media management for San Diego based women's surf and sustainability NGO Changing Tides, while they found a locally based candidate.

May 2022: We launched our Small Business start up package - offering small businesses a one page website, logo, basic corporate identity, logo, facebook header and an advert for print and social media to get your business off the ground - affordably.

We also hopped on board with The Tattoo Valley's community event Project Cover-Up to raise funds for See The Change, a community arts project in Ocean View - following up with The Time for Peace Graf Jam in Ocean View - a day of mural workshops in Ocean View with the youth - uplifting the area through art.

June 2022: Our team expanded bringing on Emilia Domagala as our Sustainability Consultant, and our experienced team of freelance creatives Deryn Graham - PR and copy, Jacqui van Staden - photography and videography, Warren Raysdorf and Tazz Bedevilled - illustration, Clinton Jones - video editing and post production.

We also started production on Our Drum is Love Campaign with Cami Scoundrel and Buyi Njoko of The Sun Xa Experiment - which launched in October 2022 and is still ongoing. This is a musical initiative to raise funds to regenerate schools sustainably in South Africa - you can read all about it and donate here: https://www.growcommunitygrow.org/mydrumislove

July 2022: We prepared for Women's Day with a very special event "We are the Women", a huge success which sold out over night.

August 2022: We joined Beanstalk Productions at Rocking the Daisies and coordinated the build of Spotify's VIP lounge.

In September we worked on the official launch of "Gypsy", a magical and successful evening of music featuring Meri Kenaz and DJ Django.

October we launched our Holistic Health Division - White Monkey Yoga and Wellness - which facilitated destress workshops at City Varsity, yoga and meditation classes and destress workshops in Muizenberg, we also began doing kids yoga, and play groups at children's welfare in conjunction with City Varsity from October to December.

In November and December we got really busy with festival season and Jägermeister and Beanstalk Productions - setting up greens bars at Sexy Groove Love (Paarl), We Love Summer (Somerset West), Cotton Fest (Paardien Eiland), ComUnity (Woodstock), Cabo Beach Bar (Waterfront) and Plett Rage (Plettenburg). Our Event's Pixie team expanded with some of the best in Cape Town's industry - Dirk Barnard - designer and builder extraordinaire, Tash Davidson - event production, and Shay Bruinslich - costume and décor, we even had an intern - Luke Skywalker.

We took on Mavericks as a client, producing décor for their Moulin Rouge themed birthday extravaganza, and stepped in to help in art department on a Burger King advert to alleviate some pressure like only we can.

The year ended with a décor installation for a Studio 54 party at Café Caprice in Camps Bay.

The new year started with what we didn't know would be the last contract before some very exciting opportunities opened up to us, an we have some very exciting news to announce - as if last year wasn't exciting enough? Like our events and production team will now be servicing Cape Town, the Garden Route and beyond. But scroll down, there's more..

And now for the big news! 202free has brought us to the next level. We have been blessed - here's the low down.

Our CEO, Cami, got itchy feet and went to the farm, where she got offered a piece of land on the Garden Route to start Grow Community Grow's Regeneration Centre - thank you David van Rensburg! We know when you get offered a leg up - you take it, so she jumped, pulled her life savings, invested in the future of the earth and over the last four months has built the center out of upcycled materials, off-grid, started a seedling nursery and community food garden and acquired a company bakkie and motorbike (for future developments and petrol savings) for R250 000 - yes you read right - we want to show you how you can change your life for under R300 000.

We now have the space and capacity to start Grow Community Grow's newest offerings - regenerative workshops for the community and public (all things earth care, people care future care - we're building a regenerative force), creative and movement workshops weekly for the local youth, a cabin and natural build division, and music and wellness events. We have also built volunteer accommodation. Another blessing has been Claire Cantrell joining us on our new site as Custodian of Soil and Seeds - she is a production and permaculture powerhouse.

Our goal here is to start as many community businesses to generate local industry and fill local needs - through community driven, regenerative and natural products and services - and hand these over to the community over time - creating sustainable abundance. This is pilot A. We hope to recreate this structure in as many communities as possible across the country - while seeding funding for them.

We are a registered Non Profit Company and are in the process of acquiring our section A18s - as soon as they're ready you will know.

We are so proud of what we have achieved in the past year! Thank you for following our journey, our social media pages will be up and running in full force over the next few weeks, and our website updated with all the new things - there's a lot more to announce - stay tuned!
